Hi friends!
Here comes Savory Version in Ghevar. This month SNC challenge given by Manjula from Desi fiesta. She posed us the yummy and delicious dessert"Ghevar topped with rabdi"
Thanks to her once again for giving the wonderful recipe as challenging one.I want to make savory version.I already mention in my post.So here comes the savory version.I want to do separate post because i have to mention the trick and sufferings. Not suffer but you have to be so cautious while making this. The recipe is traditional and authentic one made usually during festive seasons.A Rajasthani Dessert that came as savory version.
While preparing this i really enjoyed a lot.The reason behind this i already broke a lot while making sweet version. My mom told this is so different but by practicing again again it will be more easy.A little break for continuous dessert version.
Preparation time:10 minutes
Cooking time:10 minutes
Serves:2
Ingredients needed:
Maida/all purpose flour - 200 gm
Ghee/clarified butter - 2 tbsp
Fennel seed powder - 2 tbsp
Chilli powder/Pepper powder - 1/2 tbsp
Salt - to taste
Water - as needed
Oil - 500 ml
Method:
Take a bowl and add ghee along with maida wnd whisk thoroughly .
Add water little by little and make smooth paste.
Add chilli powder, fennel seed powder an required salt to it and whisk well.
Again add water little by little and make thin paste.
Heat 500 ml oil in a cylindrical deep bottom sauce pan.
Pour the batter from height in low flame.
Wait for few seconds. When it is cooked,it gets separated from sides.
Using skewer remove the ghevar and make other.
Tips:
Replace chilli powder with pepper powder or simply make salt version.
Make ordinary ghevar and toss with pepper powder and salt.this is alternate method.
Careful while taking out.I made two successful unbreakable ghevars.
Savory Ghevar is ready to serve!!!!
