Biscuit Barfi | Steamed Barfi | Valentine's Day Special

Hi Friends!

 Hope all enjoyed this weekend!
Today came with barfi from made from ordinary tea biscuits. The idea I got from Divya Pramil from her pops for Christmas. But i altered the recipe with few ml of milk. The ingredients I used nearly same as her but i steam cook them and made barfi with condensed milk and 100 ml milk.
The process is so easy and can be made within minutes.I made this as Valentine's treat.

Coming to the recipe I really enjoyed while making this.As usual no small piece remain for me.So with the weak heart am posting this.I tasted after steaming it really came out well. With tea biscuits we can make so many things. On that day i prepared same pops,Barfi and Healthy balls.
All came out really well.Thank Divya sis once again for sharing the yummy pops.Apart from others i liked this barfi and it is set in refrigerator for 2 hours and then served.

Preparation time:20 minutes
Cooking time:10 minutes
Serves:3

 Ingredients Needed:
  1. Tea biscuits(Marie Biscuits) - 12 nos
  2. Mixed fruit jam - 2 tbsp
  3. Condensed Milk - 3 tbsp
  4. Ordinary milk - 100 ml
  5. Vanilla essence - 2 drops
  6. Butter - 2 tbsp

Method:
  • Crush and powdered the biscuits in the blender. Not so powdery just coarsely powder it.
  • Melt butter and add it to the powdered biscuits and add jam and mix well in a bowl.
  • Add vanilla essence and condensed milk and whisk together.
  • Add Ordinary milk little by little and whisk continuously into a thick batter.
  • Prepare the baking tin by greasing it with butter and flour and pour the batter.
  • Level the batter with spatula and steam cook them in pressure cooker for 10 minutes.
  • Open the lid and remove the tin.Remain the tin for 10 minutes.
  • Take the steamed part out of the tin and knead well like a dough.
  • Using rolling pin roll them and make desired shapes.

 Tips:
  • Also use your desired biscuits like bourbon.
  • If you use cream biscuits remove the cream and crush them  and add the cream while making batter.
  • Using essence is your choice and i added for experimenting and it came out really well.

Biscuit Barfi is ready to serve!!!!
Have A Nice Day!!!!
Regards,
Ramya
